A product spec comparison table lets you evaluate multiple products against the same criteria in a single view — making it easy to identify which option wins on each attribute and which has the best overall score. Product managers, procurement teams, and consumers use these comparisons before making purchasing or build-vs-buy decisions.

How to Use the Product Spec Comparison Tool
Making a sound product decision — whether you are buying hardware, choosing software tools, or evaluating vendors — requires comparing options on the same criteria simultaneously. Our product spec comparison tool lets you build a dynamic comparison table with your own attributes and automatically highlights the winning value per row.
Step 1: Add Your Products
Click in the product name fields at the top to name each column. You start with two products and can add up to four using the Add Product button. Click the × button on any product to remove it. If you want a quick starting point, click Load Example to pre-fill a laptop comparison.
Step 2: Add Spec Rows
Each row represents one attribute you want to compare — for example, Processor, RAM, Price, or Battery Life. Enter the attribute name on the left, then fill in the value for each product. Use the toggle on each row to indicate whether a higher or lower value wins (e.g., higher RAM is better; lower price is better). Click Add Spec to add more rows.
Step 3: Compare and Read the Results
Click Compare to generate the side-by-side table. Cells highlighted in green are the winner for that spec row. Above the table, score cards show how many spec rows each product won — giving you a quick overall ranking. The product with the highest score wins the most attributes by your defined criteria.
Exporting Your Comparison
Click Export PNG to download a screenshot of the comparison table as an image — useful for sharing in presentations or documents. Click Copy Table to copy the comparison as tab-separated text, ready to paste into Excel, Google Sheets, or Notion. The comparison is not saved between browser sessions, so export before you close the tab.
Tips for Better Comparisons
For numeric specs like price, weight, or battery hours, use plain numbers without units (e.g., "14" not "14 hours") so the winner detection algorithm can compare values correctly. Include a Price row and set it to "lower is better" to ensure price is factored into the overall score. For specs where no single winner is clear — like design or ecosystem — leave the higher/lower toggle in either position and evaluate those rows manually.
FAQ
Is the product comparison tool free?
Yes, completely free with no account required. All comparison logic runs in your browser — your data is never sent to any server.
How many products can I compare at once?
You can compare up to 4 products simultaneously. Each product gets its own column in the comparison table. You can add and remove products with the Add Product and Remove buttons.
How does the winner highlighting work?
For each spec row, you can choose whether a higher or lower value is better using the toggle next to the spec name. The tool then highlights the winning cell in green for numeric specs. For text specs, no automatic winner is selected — you can use the comparison table to evaluate manually.
Can I export the comparison table?
Yes. Click Export as PNG to download a screenshot of the comparison table as a PNG image. Click Copy Table to copy the comparison as tab-separated text you can paste into Excel or Google Sheets.
What is the overall score based on?
The overall score shows how many spec rows each product wins. A product that has the best value in 4 out of 7 specs gets a score of 4. This gives a quick at-a-glance winner, though you should weigh specs manually for your specific use case.
Can I save or share my comparison?
Currently, comparisons are not saved between sessions. To preserve your work, use the Export as PNG button to download an image, or Copy Table to save the data in a spreadsheet.
