How to Remove Pages from a PDF
Removing pages is useful for trimming blank pages a scanner added, removing a cover page before sharing, or deleting outdated sections from an assembled document. This PDF page remover handles it privately in your browser — no uploads, no servers.
Step 1: Upload Your PDF
Click the drop zone or drag a PDF file onto it. The tool renders each page as a thumbnail using pdfjs-dist — the same engine used by Firefox's built-in PDF viewer. You can see the actual page content before deciding which pages to remove.
Step 2: Click Thumbnails to Select Pages for Removal
Click any page thumbnail to mark it for deletion — it turns red with an X overlay. The counters at the top show how many pages are marked and how many will remain after removal. Click a marked page again to deselect it. Use "Select All" or "Deselect All" for bulk operations.
Step 3: Download the Result
Click "Remove Selected Pages & Download". The tool creates a new PDF containing all pages except the ones you marked, in original order. It uses pdf-lib to copy only the pages you want to keep into a new document. Downloads as pages-removed.pdf. The original file is unchanged.
Removing vs. Extracting Pages
This tool removes pages — you get everything except what you marked. If you want only the pages you selected (the opposite), use the PDF Splitter instead. Both approaches create a new document without modifying the original file on your device.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No — all processing happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF files are never sent anywhere. When you close the tab, everything is cleared from memory.
What happens to bookmarks when I remove a page?
Bookmarks that pointed to removed pages will no longer work after those pages are deleted. The remaining pages retain their content and internal links, but removed page references are gone.
Can I undo a page removal?
The tool doesn't modify your original file — it downloads a new PDF with the selected pages removed. To undo, simply upload the original file again and re-download without those pages removed.
What if I accidentally select too many pages?
Click any red-highlighted page again to deselect it before downloading. The selection can be changed at any time before you click the Remove button.
Can I remove all pages?
No — the tool prevents removing all pages from a document. At least one page must remain. If you need to delete all but one page, remove pages in batches or use the PDF Splitter to extract just the pages you want to keep.
