How to Use the TCG Collection Value Tracker
Tracking a trading card collection by memory doesn't work once it passes 50-100 cards. This TCG collection tracker gives you a simple inventory system with condition-adjusted values and collection statistics.
Step 1: Add Your Key Cards First
Start with your highest-value cards — holofoils, first editions, and graded cards. Enter the card name, game, set name, condition grade, and your estimated current market value. Use TCGPlayer or eBay recently-sold prices for accuracy, not listed prices.
Step 2: Understanding Condition Multipliers
The tracker automatically applies condition multipliers to your entered value. A Near Mint card at $100 shows an adjusted value of $85. Moderately Played at $100 shows $50. This gives you a realistic collection estimate rather than overstating values with mint prices applied to damaged cards.
Step 3: Filter and Sort Your Collection
Use the game filter to see just your Pokemon, MTG, or Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Sort by highest value to find your most valuable cards, or sort alphabetically when searching for a specific card. The stats bar updates in real time as you filter.
Step 4: Export for Backup
Click "Export JSON" to download your collection as a backup file. Store it in Google Drive or Dropbox. If you clear your browser data, you can restore your collection using "Import JSON". The format is human-readable and works in any browser.
Updating Values Over Time
Card values change frequently. For actively traded cards, re-check prices every 3-6 months using TCGPlayer market prices or recent eBay sold listings. Click the edit button on any card to update its value. The collection total recalculates automatically.
FAQ
Is this TCG collection tracker free?
Yes, completely free with no account required. All your collection data is stored locally in your browser — nothing is sent to any server.
Which card games does the tracker support?
The tracker supports Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering (MTG), Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Other (for any other TCG). You can filter your collection by game to see each game's total value separately.
How are condition multipliers applied?
When you enter an estimated value for a card, the condition multiplier is already applied. Mint: 1.0×, Near Mint: 0.85×, Lightly Played: 0.70×, Moderately Played: 0.50×, Heavily Played: 0.25×, Damaged: 0.10×. The display shows both the raw and multiplied value.
Can I export my collection?
Yes. Use the Export JSON button to download your entire collection as a JSON file. You can re-import it later using Import JSON. This is useful for backups or moving your data between devices.
Does the tracker automatically update card prices?
No — you enter estimated values manually. For current prices, check TCGPlayer, eBay sold listings, or Cardmarket. This keeps the tool working offline and without any API limitations.
How accurate is the total collection value?
Accuracy depends entirely on the values you enter. The tool applies condition multipliers to whatever value you provide. For best results, use recent sold prices from TCGPlayer or eBay rather than listed (ask) prices.
