How to Use the Minecraft Crafting Guide
Type the item name in the search box to find recipes instantly, or use the category tabs to browse by type. Each recipe card shows the 3×3 crafting grid with ingredients in their exact positions. A legend below each grid explains the materials needed.
Crafting Grid Basics
The standard crafting table uses a 3×3 grid. Some recipes only require a 2×2 area — those can be crafted in your inventory without a crafting table. Shapeless recipes (marked with ✱) allow ingredients in any grid position. Shaped recipes require exact placement as shown.
Material Tiers
Tools and armor come in material tiers: Wood → Stone → Iron → Gold → Diamond → Netherite. Higher tiers have more durability and deal more damage (for swords/axes). Gold tools mine fastest but have the lowest durability. Netherite requires a Smithing Table to upgrade from Diamond, not a crafting table.
Recipe Version Notes
These recipes are from Minecraft Java/Bedrock 1.20+. Most basic recipes have been unchanged across many versions. Newer items added after 1.20 may not be included. For cutting recipes (stone cutter) and brewing recipes (brewing stand), those use separate interfaces not covered in this crafting guide.
