How to Use the Board Game Score Tracker
Keeping score during board games often leads to disputes, arithmetic errors, and phone calculators left lying around. This score tracker centralizes everything — player names, round entries, running totals, and game history — so game night runs smoothly from first move to final point tally.
Step 1: Set Up Your Game
Enter a game name (optional), choose a point target if your game has a win condition (e.g., 10 VP for Catan), and enter player names. Use a game preset to pre-fill common configurations, or set up a custom game for any rule set. The tracker supports 2 to 8 players.
Step 2: Enter Scores Round by Round
After each round or turn, enter each player's score for that round in the input fields and click "Add Round." The score table updates automatically with running totals. The current leader is highlighted in amber. If a point target is set and a player reaches it, the game banner shows a winner.
Step 3: Use the Bar Chart
The bar chart at the bottom gives a visual overview of the current standings. Bars are proportional to each player's total score relative to the current leader. This makes it easy to see at a glance how tight the game is without reading numbers.
Game History and Resuming
The current game saves automatically to your browser's localStorage after every round. If you close the browser and reopen the page, the game resumes from where you left off. Completed games are saved to the Game History section so you can review previous sessions. Clear history at any time using the "Clear all" button.
