How to Edit Images Online
This online image editor runs entirely in your browser. No file is ever uploaded to a server — all edits happen locally in memory using the HTML5 Canvas API, so your photos stay private.
Step 1: Upload Your Image
Click the upload area or drag and drop any image file. PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG are all supported. Images larger than 4096×4096 pixels are automatically downscaled to keep editing fast.
Step 2: Use the Toolbar
The toolbar gives you quick access to the most common edits. Crop enters crop mode — drag a rectangle on the canvas, then click Apply Crop. Rotate Left/Right turns the image 90 degrees. Flip H/V mirrors the image horizontally or vertically. Use Undo/Redo at any time to step back through up to 20 history states.
Step 3: Apply Filters
The Filters panel on the right lets you adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, grayscale, sepia, and hue rotation. Move the sliders to preview the effect on the canvas overlay, then click Apply Filters to commit them permanently to the canvas.
Step 4: Add Text Overlays
Click the Text button to enter text mode. Type your text, choose font family, size, and color, then click anywhere on the canvas to place it. The text is rendered directly into the image — use Undo to remove it if needed.
Step 5: Resize the Image
Enter new dimensions in the Resize panel. With Lock aspect ratio checked, changing width automatically updates height to preserve proportions. Click Apply Resize to commit.
Step 6: Download
Choose your output format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP) and, for JPEG/WebP, adjust the quality slider. Higher quality means larger files — 0.85–0.92 is a good balance for photos. The estimated file size updates as you adjust. Click Download Image to save to your device.
FAQ
Does the image editor upload my images to a server?
No. All editing happens entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — they are processed locally in memory.
What image formats can I upload?
You can upload PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG files. The editor converts them to a canvas for editing and lets you export as PNG, JPG, or WebP.
How many undo steps are available?
The editor stores up to 20 canvas states in the undo history. You can step back through 20 edits using the Undo button, and forward using Redo.
Can I add text to an image?
Yes. Use the Text tool to click anywhere on the canvas and place text. You can choose font family, size, and color before placing the text overlay.
What export formats and quality settings are available?
You can download as PNG (lossless), JPG, or WebP. For JPG and WebP, a quality slider (0.1 to 1.0) lets you control file size vs. image quality.
How does the crop tool work?
Click the Crop button to enter crop mode, then drag a rectangle on the canvas. Click Apply Crop to trim the image, or Cancel to exit without changes.
Is the image editor really free?
Yes, completely free. No account, no watermarks, no size limits. All processing is done in your browser with no server costs.
